Ms. Halima Khurshid is a practicing Clinical Psychologist & Lecturer at Institute of Clinical Psychology. She has done MS Clinical Psychology (2018) from Institute of Clinical Psychology, UMT Lahore & BS Psychology (2015) from University of Gujrat. She has joined ICP, UMT in 2019 as a Lecturer. Previously, she has worked as a School Psychologist in one of the inclusive private schools in Lahore where she was also leading the Special Educational Needs Department. She has served there for 1 year where she not only dealt with special needs population but also gained the experience of dealing psychosocial issues of mainstream students.

Ms. Halima specialized in psychological assessment and has expertise in using Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABBLS – R), Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFFLS – R), EDMARK Reading Program, Cognitive Assessment Battery, Child Apperception Test, Thematic Apperception Test, Draw a Person Test, Kinetic Family Drawing, Hand Test along with other multiple projective techniques and psychological assessment measures. In addition to this, she also has competence in implementing psychological and therapeutic strategies by keeping in mind the integrative approach. She has specialized in Behavior Modification Procedures, Functional Analysis of Behavior, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and alike. She has performed clinical work in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, schools, and special educational departments. She has extensive experience in Clinical Case Report Writing and has also supervised staff in the delivery of behavior therapy for disruptive behaviors in special needs’ population.

Ms. Halima has experience in indigenous work and developed indigenous assessment tool for social competence. Her current research interests are in parenting styles, patterns of attachment, school psychology, emotional regulation, mental health of adolescents & young adults, trauma, neglect along with marginalized population. She has expertise in Exploratory Factor Analysis. She has also given many oral and poster paper presentations both at national and international conferences. She also writes articles for different magazines specifically regarding the importance of mental hygiene in one’s life. Her work has also been published many times in the Institute’s Biannual Publication “The Clinical Psychologist.”

She also takes active part in Clinical Case & Research Supervision in clinical and counseling areas along with teaching multiple courses to BS and MS Programs in Clinical & Counseling Psychology. She also takes active participation in institute’s administrative work as she is involved in managing the Institute’s Library, taking minutes of Institute’s Graduate Committee and staff meetings along with working as the Associative Editor of Biannual Publication “The Clinical Psychologist” at ICP, UMT.

She has experience of conducting and organizing numerous workshops. She has hosted many National and International Conferences. Furthermore, she has given number of workshops on Goal Setting and Prioritization, Study Skills, Time Management, Enhancing Self-Esteem, Bullying, Behavior Modification in Classroom Management & Psychological First Aid.

She also remained actively involved in the volunteer work as she conducted multiple interactive awareness sessions on Mental Hygiene for the community with aim to increase mental health awareness in the society. She is also an active social media user and strives to strongly raise the voice with regards to mental health awareness both within and external to UMT. She runs her Youtube Channel and a Facebook Page where she uploads short clips on mental health awareness for the community.

She has won multiple awards throughout her educational career. She has won the Certificate of Merit (Session 2016 – 2018) in MS Program of Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Clinical Psychology, UMT Lahore, Certificate of Merit for best performance throughout academic career (2009) at Army Public School & College, Jalalpur Jattan Cantt, Certificate of Merit for securing distinction in Young Journalist Competition held at Regional Level (2006) at Army Public School, & College Rawlakot Cantt to name a few.
