Program Introduction

The program in I/O Psychology is a two-year professional training program with an emphasis on theory, research, and professional skill development. Strength of the program would be the involvement of industry related professionals in teaching, training, and supervised internship. Business leaders, managers, and employees from all tiers of management will be involved in the delivery of this course, making it truly an interactive and market driven program. The program will have 39 credits over the two years with 6 credits given to research dissertation and 6 to internship. Assessment would vary from course to course but in general a continuous assessment paradigm, as per university design will be followed with semester wise relative GPA system.

Program Objectives

The MS IO Psychology program will prepare its participants to apply psychological principles to solve real-world problems in organizational settings, including employee selection, training and development, performance appraisal, and organizational change. It will help them to instill strong ethical values, critically evaluate organizational issues, analyze data, and provide scientifically grounded solutions. The scope of this program at indigenous level is in high paying areas such as Corporate Trainer, Human Resources, Coaching & Consultation and many more. Whereas internationally this is one of the highest paying jobs in the corporate sector as Professional Coaching, Talent Management, Job Analysis, Recruitment and Training and so on. Apart from industrial level jobs, there is huge space for this in academic circle as lecturers and trainers especially in Business education at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Admission Criteria

  1. 16 Years of formal education (M.Sc. in Psychology, applied Psychology or BS (4 years) in Psychology, Applied Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Clinical Psychology) with no more than one second division or less than 2.50 CGPA throughout the academic career.
  2. No third division in entire academic career.
  3. Pass any of the following with 50% marks:
  1. GRE / GAT / NTS (General); or
  2. Admission Interview by School Graduate Admission Committee
  3. Minimum 50% marks in previous degree in case of annual system or 2.50/4.0 CGPA in case of semester system in the degree awarding institution for admission in UMT MS programs.
  1. In case of an equivalent foreign qualification, an equivalent certificate from Higher Education Commission is mandatory.
