Clinical Counselling Center’s Operational Policy

This document contains important information about the student/client appointment policy in the Clinical Counselling Center. Please read it carefully.

Aims and Objectives

The aims of Clinical Counselling Center (DCP, SPP, UMT) are:

  • To benefit students/clients recognize and better utilize their individual capabilities.
  • To propose therapeutic strategies that can improve intrapersonal and interpersonal functioning, proactively.

Access to the Services

The Clinical Counselling Center Services are easily accessible and available for the faculty, staff, and students. Teachers may perhaps make a referral, if they feel the student needs some help. The center is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Most importantly, we remain close on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public holidays. This service is

  • Free of cost
  • Based on self-referral

How do I make an appointment?

All individuals who wish to seek an appointment for counseling sessions are required to put in a request via email or fill in the Book an Appointment Form (available at the Clinical Counselling website: https://spp.umt.edu.pk/ccc/home.aspx). In response, you will receive an email and will be informed; accordingly, about your appointment.

Operational Policy Regarding Counselling Sessions’ Appointments

In the light of our more than 30 years of experience, the operational policy of the service is as follows:

  • On average there will be a total number of 3-5 sessions however, it may vary according to the nature and needs of the client/student.
  • After registration the client will be assigned one of the Clinical Counsellors and appointments will be scheduled accordingly through emails.
  • Normally, Clinical Counselling Center give appointments based on first come, first served.
  • If one will not respond to confirm their scheduled appointment; then, the center will offer that appointment slot to some other student/client.
  • If two consecutive appointments are missed without informing your Concerned Clinical Counselor; then, your name will be put back to the waiting list.
  • Continuous rescheduling of appointments will put your name into waiting list.
  • A session will normally last for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • If anyone needs an appointment urgently, then let us know we will give you an appointment.

Who will provide the services?

Professionally qualified, experienced and trained Clinical and Counselling psychologists exhibiting two years full-time degree in MS Clinical and Counselling Psychology.

Session Cost and Mode of Payment

This service is paid according to a standard procedure.

The cost will be Rs. 2500/- PKR per session.
